PHOTOTHERAPY
Narrow Band UVB (NB UVB) light therapy can be used to treat difficult skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and atopic dermatitis. NB UVB offers many advantages including the fact that is can work faster on the problem area, can involve less treatments, has less risks associated with it vs. more traditional light therapy systems. NB UVB is administered in the office. The patient stands in a light box lined with UVB lamps after applying an emollient to the affected areas. The first treatment is usually quite short. Subsequent treatment times are gradually increased until clearing of the condition occurs. Since most skin conditions treated with NB UVB are not cosmetic problems, most insurance companies will pay for light treatment in a medical office.

Mohs micrographic surgery has been recognized as the skin cancer treatment with the highest cure rate. It differs from other skin cancer treatments in that it samples the entire specimen to ensure the entire cancer has been removed while removing the least amount of normal tissue. On-site testing samples the entire specimen, thereby minimizing the scar. Reconstructive same day surgery is provided with cosmetic closures such as flaps and grafts. Coordination with other providers facilitated when necessary.
